in honor of Alan Menkin; Part 1

This might have to be a new series of posts. Because the man is a genius. I just saw tangled and bought this song last night.
Currently the "Play Count" count is at 22.

All those days watching from the windows;
All those years outside looking in;
All that time never even knowing just how blind I've been.

Now I'm here blinking in the star light;
Now I'm here suddenly I see:
Standing here its oh, so clear
I'm where i'm mean to be.

And at last I see the light
And it's like the fog has lifted.
And at last I see the light
And it's like the sky is new.
And it's warm and real and bright
And the world has somehow shifted.
All at once everything looks different
Now that I see you.

All those days chasing down a daydream;
All those years living in a blur'
All that time never truly seeing things the way they were

Now she's here shining in the starlight;
Now she's here, suddenly I know
if she's here it's crystal clear I'm where I'm meant to go

And at last I see the light,
And it's like the fog has lifted.
And at last I see the light,
And it's like the sky is new.
And it's warm and real and bright
And the world has somehow shifted
All at once everything looks different
Now that I see you...
Now that I see you.

The parts that are bolded are like usual good lyrics, but really I love the music behind them. WAY more than the lyrics.
I love this.
And did you know that Zachary Levi sang his own part? Yeah, I'm kind of in love with him recently.

i'm not that girl

Maybe I was lying in the post below. Maybe you don't forget. Or maybe just me, maybe I don't forget and I can't forget. I'm....

Hands touch,
Eyes meet.
Sudden silence, sudden heat.
Hearts leap in a giddy whirl...
He could be that boy, but I'm not that girl.

Don't dream too far
Don't loose sight of who you are
Don't remember that rush of joy -
He could be that boy...
I'm not that girl.

Every so often we long to steal to the land of what might have been
But that doesn't soften the ache we feel when reality sets back in

Blithe smile, lithe limb - she who's winsome, she wins him.
Gold hair with a gentle curl
that's the girl he chose and heaven knows I'm not that girl

Don't wish.
Don't start.
Wishing only wounds the heart.
I wasn't born for the rose and pearl.
There's a girl I know...
He loves her so...

I'm not that girl.
